Hey XR fans โ The CES hangover is real. This week the industry did what it always does after a big show: published deep-dive analysis pieces and then dropped the bad news. Meta discontinued its Horizon Workrooms metaverse platform and cut 10 percent of Reality Labs. But the smart glasses story and Android XR narrative remain firmly intact. The XR space contains multitudes.

META DISCONTINUES WORKROOMS AND SUPERNATURAL: The Verge reported Meta shut down Horizon Workrooms (its enterprise metaverse platform) effective February 20, 2026.
